AERRC seeks an experienced Principal PK-12 to lead June Nelson Elementary and Kotzebue Middle High School in Kotzebue. This full-time position begins July 27, 2026, and offers an opportunity to provide instructional leadership and strategic direction for a pre-K through grade 12 educational community in Alaska.
About the Role
As Principal PK-12, you will serve as the instructional and administrative leader for both the elementary and secondary programs. This dual-campus leadership role combines the unique challenges and rewards of managing diverse student populations across multiple grade levels and school formats within a rural Alaskan setting.
What You'll Do
- Provide visionary instructional leadership that raises academic achievement across all grade levels
- Manage administrative operations, budgets, and resources for both school facilities
- Supervise and support teacher professional development and instructional practices
- Establish positive school culture and discipline policies aligned with student welfare
- Engage families and community stakeholders in the educational mission
- Ensure compliance with state and federal educational standards and regulations
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree or higher in Educational Leadership or Administration
- Valid Alaska principal licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Proven experience leading K-12 or PK-12 educational environments
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and instructional improvement
- Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and supporting all learners
- Experience in rural or underserved school communities preferred
