What This Role Involves

The Lead Material Specialist will assist the Manager, Materials in day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include scheduling, computing time cards, training, maintaining inventory levels, and working with other departments to ensure an adequate supply of materials for aircraft.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Schedule and compute time cards
• Train staff and maintain inventory levels
• Work with other departments and stakeholders to manage material supplies
• Understand fiscal responsibility and time management
• Handle shipping and receiving processes

Qualifications

• A combination of education and experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
• Mandatory: High School Diploma/GED Certification, Minimum two years experience working in an Airline Stores environment
• Preferred: Inventory management and rotations experience, Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Successful completion of In-house Training, IATA, or DOT-approved Hazardous Materials Training.
• Must read, write, and speak English to receive and understand instructions, interact with customers, ensure safety, and communicate effectively over the phone.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of inventory management and computer inventory management systems/barcoding systems preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills for telephone interactions. Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Proficiency with operating various equipment such as forklifts, trucks, tractors.
