What This Role Involves
The Materials Specialist is responsible for maintaining the Stores stock and ensuring an adequate supply of materials for aircraft maintenance. Duties include receiving, handling, storing, and shipping aircraft parts, equipment, and tooling to other stations as needed. The role involves creating repair orders and shipping parts to repair vendors.
What You'll Do
- Receive, sign for, process, and safely handle aircraft maintenance-related parts, materials, equipment, and tooling, including but not limited to fasteners, cables, and avionics components.
- Create and manage repair orders in coordination with other departments at the station.
- Ship parts to repair vendors as required by maintenance schedules or emergency needs.
- Perform inventory management tasks such as counting stock levels, tracking part usage, and updating inventory records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
- A combination of education and experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
- Mandatory: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent, minimum one year of grocery store stocking experience.
- Preferred: Grocery Store stocking experience, valid Driver’s License, forklift certification, intermediate-level Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, strong typing skills, and knowledge of inventory management systems/barcoding.
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs. and push/pull up to 250 lbs. with proper equipment.
- Must successfully pass in-house training, IATA, or DOT-approved hazardous materials training.
