About This Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Specialist for our Mobile Youth Outreach program in East Bowral. The role is part-time and based at the East Bowral location with no remote working option available.

Key Responsibilities

• To lead and implement strategies aimed at reducing short-term remand of children and young people (aged 10-17) in the community.
• To work closely with local law enforcement, youth justice services, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and support for youth.
• To provide direct support and guidance to young people experiencing avoidable short-term remand, ensuring their needs are met and their well-being is prioritized.

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a youth-focused role or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse communities, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport with young people, families, and community partners.
• A commitment to social justice and a passion for supporting youth in the justice system.
