Role Overview

As Cook III at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, you'll bring seasoned expertise to our kitchen team, managing daily food preparation with precision and creativity. In this full-time position, you'll take on increased responsibility for kitchen operations, quality assurance, and mentoring junior kitchen staff while executing our culinary vision for discerning guests.

Core Duties

• Prepare and cook complex dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Oversee proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices throughout the kitchen
• Maintain ingredient quality and monitor inventory levels for assigned station or prep area
• Coordinate timing with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction
• Troubleshoot cooking challenges and adapt techniques to maintain consistent quality
• Support training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff and new team members
• Contribute to menu planning discussions and special event food preparation
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your cooking station and shared kitchen areas

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cook II or equivalent kitchen role in a hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment during service
• Knowledge of proper food handling, storage temperature requirements, and sanitation standards
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
