Director of Data & Analytics

Join Jackpot as Director of Data & Analytics in a remote leadership role, establishing and leading our analytics and data science strategy for this rapidly scaling consumer company. This full-time position requires you to be based in or willing to relocate to the NYC Metro area or San Francisco, where you'll report directly to the Chief Strategy & Data Officer.

About the Role

You'll establish the strategic direction for our analytics and data science teams, building and scaling a data organization that directly enables product innovation, personalization capabilities, experimentation velocity, and business intelligence. Your leadership will drive the adoption of AI-first methodologies across the data function, uncovering new opportunities to leverage advanced analytics and machine learning to accelerate business growth. This is a hands-on director role where you'll have direct influence over both the technical architecture and organizational vision of our data capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define strategic priorities and roadmaps for analytics and data science teams
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to modernize data infrastructure and platforms
• Lead the data platform lifecycle—from pipeline orchestration and data warehouse operations through modeling, data governance, system observability, and operational reliability
• Spearhead AI and machine learning adoption, identifying high-impact applications across the business
• Build ML solutions for personalization, fraud prevention, revenue forecasting, and user analytics
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Compliance on data-informed strategy
• Develop self-service analytics capabilities through dashboards, tools, and automated insights
• Design and scale a rigorous experimentation program with robust statistical methods and rollout procedures
• Foster data-driven decision-making and elevate analytical rigor across the company

What You Bring

• 10+ years working across analytics, data science, and data engineering, with 3+ years leading cross-functional data teams
• Proven success building, operating, and scaling modern data stacks (Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Databricks, Fivetran, etc.)
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
• Experience applying AI and machine learning to production systems, with commitment to staying current
• Proven ability to build and maintain production data pipelines and ML systems at scale
• Knowledge of A/B testing, causal inference, and experimentation platforms
• Ability to translate technical data findings into clear, strategic business insights that drive action
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional partnership skills
