Accounting Intern (Fall 2026)

Zipline, the world's largest autonomous drone delivery company, is seeking an Accounting Intern (Fall 2026) for our Finance & Accounting team in South San Francisco, California. This full-time, in-person position runs September through December 2026 at $34/hour with benefits including relocation support, housing stipends, paid sick time, and overtime pay—offering hands-on corporate accounting experience at a rapidly scaling global technology company.

Role Overview

Our Finance & Accounting team is the backbone of Zipline's global operations. As an Accounting Intern, you'll work on real tasks that keep our worldwide business running smoothly. You'll support our month-end and quarter-end close cycles, work with our operational teams, and gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of accounting. This practical internship bridges your classroom learning with how accounting actually works at a mission-driven, high-growth technology company operating across four continents.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and maintain comprehensive financial records
• Support monthly and quarterly close processes: compile data, generate reports, and organize supporting schedules
• Gain hands-on familiarity with Zipline's accounting systems; execute data entry, validation, and cleanup initiatives
• Work with operations and manufacturing teams on fixed asset accounting, including tracking, capitalization, and reconciliation
• Collaborate across Finance, Procurement, and Operations to categorize transactions and identify process improvements
• Build awareness of international accounting practices and Zipline's global business footprint

What You Bring

• Completed at least two years of undergraduate study in Accounting (graduate students welcome to apply)
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail with numerical information
• Ability to apply accounting principles learned in coursework to real-world business scenarios
• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, with demonstrated comfort using formulas and pivot tables
• Genuine interest in Zipline's mission and the role of finance in scaling global operations
• Collaborative problem-solver who asks thoughtful questions and can work independently
• Self-directed and resourceful, motivated to learn through hands-on experience
