Senior Accountant (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential financial services firm in Berlin seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, you will:

• Take full end-to-end responsibility for operational accounting across a diverse portfolio of clients
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements independently in accordance with HGB (German Commercial Code), ensuring the highest quality and legal compliance
• Manage multiple client relationships simultaneously in a dynamic advisory environment
• Provide expert consultation to clients on complex accounting questions and VAT/sales tax matters
• Communicate financial insights proactively, create meaningful reports, and deliver strategic recommendations to client stakeholders
• Implement modern financial processes, drive digitalization of workflows, and continuously improve existing accounting structures

What We're Looking For

• Certified qualification: Successfully completed Geprüfter Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) certification or comparable accounting qualification
• Technical expertise: Deep knowledge of HGB financial reporting (end-to-end annual accounts) and solid command of German VAT law
• DATEV mastery: Extensive, multi-year experience with the DATEV ecosystem (DATEV Kanzlei-Rechnungswesen, DATEV Unternehmen online) with high proficiency
• Relevant experience: Several years in accounting or financial statement preparation, ideally from a tax advisory firm, audit practice, or consulting environment
• Multitasking strength: Comfortable managing multiple clients across different industries simultaneously while maintaining oversight in fast-paced situations
• Location: Based in Berlin or the surrounding area, able to attend the Berlin office for regular team collaboration
• Communication skills: Ability to translate complex financial data into clear language and interact with clients and stakeholders in a professional, approachable manner
