Staff Cloud Platform Engineer – Cloud Developer Experience

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential enterprise SaaS organization in their search for a Staff Cloud Platform Engineer focused on developer experience and delivery operations. In this role, you will own the CI/CD architecture and the full outer loop of software development for a globally distributed engineering organization of approximately 400 engineers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Owning and evolving the CI/CD architecture and developer-facing delivery experience
• Driving continuous improvements to pipeline reliability, speed, and predictability
• Defining paved paths that enable product teams to ship rapidly and safely without deep platform knowledge
• Taking end-to-end ownership of the delivery process, from code merge through to production
• Championing progressive delivery practices including canary deployments and automated rollbacks
• Building tooling that makes deployments observable, repeatable, and self-service
• Owning and evolving the Internal Developer Portal and self-service experience
• Partnering with Cloud Platform teams on infrastructure while maintaining ownership of developer-facing delivery
• Embedding AI tooling into delivery workflows to create lasting productivity gains

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a Staff-level engineer with both operational excellence and strong software development capabilities. You should have the ability to lead cross-functional projects and collaborate effectively across timezones with engineering leaders and senior engineers across dozens of teams.

Required qualifications:

• Strong experience in Platform Engineering or Developer Experience roles focused on CI/CD and delivery, ideally at companies with 200+ engineers
• Experience owning and operating a CI/CD platform at admin and architecture level, including security, configuration, and enablement
• Proven ability to design and operate delivery systems at scale
• Hands-on software development experience including production-quality Go
• Passion for progressive delivery practices: canary deployments and automated rollbacks
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and Kubernetes-based platforms
• Passion for using AI to improve engineering velocity, quality, and developer experience
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence across teams

Nice to have:

• Experience building and/or maintaining an Internal Developer Platform in production
• Previous experience working in both Software and Platform Engineering teams
• Interest in Security and understanding of RBAC and OAuth
