Senior Manager, Global Procurement

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential direct-to-consumer retail organization that is reimagining global procurement. Our client seeks exceptional Senior Manager, Global Procurement professionals across multiple specialized categories including Apparel, Women's Knits & Tops, Men's and Women's Sweaters, Men's and Women's Activewear, Loungewear/Swimwear, and Footwear.

This senior role sits at the intersection of cost optimization, supply chain innovation, and sustainable sourcing. You will own cost structures and deliver measurable savings while maintaining product quality and ethical standards. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you'll leverage deep expertise in commodity costing, clean sheet analysis, manufacturing efficiency, and raw material markets to create a transparent, competitive pricing environment with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Procurement Category Strategy: Define and execute commercial roadmaps and vendor distribution strategies for assigned categories to improve margins at scale. Establish procurement targets aligned to business growth and deliver product cost improvements without sacrificing quality or sustainability considerations.
• RFP Ownership & Execution: Structure and run competitive, end-to-end bidding processes with manufacturing partners. Own the full lifecycle from vendor identification through award, delivering best-in-class cost savings through rigorous negotiation while building repeatable frameworks for long-term competitive advantage.
• Clean Sheet & Buy Plan Approvals: Create component-level clean sheets to drive pricing transparency. Review, approve, and optimize costing for all buy events within your categories. Lead buy plan margin reviews and ensure transparent, competitive pricing from material suppliers.
• Upstream Sourcing: Partner directly with Material Managers, Sourcing Teams, and Tier 1/2 vendors to align on and implement material benefits into finished goods costing. Integrate upstream material availability into product design cycles for early-stage cost optimization.
• Value Creation: Identify opportunities to reshape the supply chain and extract financial value beyond traditional sourcing boundaries, including verticalization plays, volume consolidation, and strategic commodity management.
• Partner with technology teams to embed procurement capabilities into vendor portals and product catalog tools, including building AI-assisted RFP processes with scenario analysis capabilities.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in global procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management in a retail apparel environment
• Proven track record running competitive RFP processes with international manufacturing partners
• Hands-on experience building and leveraging clean sheets for cost negotiation
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision making
• Experience working cross-functionally with merchandising, materials, and production teams
• Technical aptitude for leveraging AI-powered platforms to conduct scenario analysis and automate complex procurement tasks
• Excellent negotiation skills and commercial acumen
• Experience in apparel, soft goods, or home goods strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus
