Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential consultancy seeking a Principal Product Manager with deep expertise in banking and fintech. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, guiding them through end-to-end product development and transformation initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with C-level stakeholders to understand business context, provide strategic recommendations, and deliver hands-on expertise in launching and scaling new products or reimagining existing portfolios
- Driving innovation across the product development lifecycle using lean, hypothesis-driven approaches and establishing effective product operating models
- Defining market landscape, competitive positioning, go-to-market strategy, and business cases for new opportunities
- Leading stakeholder groups through the transition to empowered, customer-centric product teams that deliver strategic growth
- Managing large, complex programmes across multiple workstreams, owning strategy, roadmap, scope and outcomes end to end
- Contributing to pre-sales activities, creating proposals and pitches, and shaping client engagements
- Developing thought leadership content including case studies, points of view, and repeatable practices to scale service delivery
- Advising clients on meaningful AI applications across the product lifecycle, from research and discovery through delivery and measurement
- Identifying opportunities to expand client relationships into new engagements and revenue streams
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience:
- 10+ years of product leadership experience building, launching and scaling products and establishing high-performing product organizations
- Proven track record leading large-scale, complex programmes with senior stakeholder groups
- Background in consultancy and banking or fintech sectors
- Experience in commercial and economic modelling, including monetization strategy
- Demonstrated ability to embed innovation mindset at scale and create sustained innovation investment across strategic horizons
- Expertise in market research, customer insights and competitive analysis to identify strategic growth opportunities
- Strong foundation in lean approaches to test viability, feasibility and desirability before scaling
- Ability to operate at company, portfolio and product levels, defining strategy and translating vision into roadmaps with clear value-based success measures
- Fluency in AI and its practical application across product development, comfortable evaluating and advising on AI-enabled tools and approaches
Professional Skills:
- Skilled at building relationships with C-suite executives and driving conversations at the intersection of technology and business
- Experience with consultative selling, diagnosing client needs and building trusted-advisor relationships
- Ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful, persuasive manner
- Strong interpersonal skills including active listening, influencing and excellent written and verbal communication
- Passionate about being a visible external voice through speaking engagements, industry panels or publications
- Collaborative mindset with strong lean towards working with multidisciplinary teams
- Curious and open approach to challenging established ways of working, energized by reimagining product development for an AI-enabled era
