About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential entertainment technology organization in their search for a Senior Business Development Manager based in London. This is an exciting opportunity to lead strategic partnerships and commercial negotiations for a studio business group that supports the development and delivery of world-class gaming experiences.
Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving deal structuring, negotiation, and execution across the organization. You'll lead complex commercial arrangements from initial evaluation through final execution, working closely with Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders to navigate contractual considerations, evaluate deal economics, and deliver successful outcomes.
This role operates as part of a global team with primary responsibility for commercial matters in Europe, with support for other regions as business needs require. Some domestic and international travel will be required.
Responsibilities
Deal Management & Negotiation
- Lead commercial negotiations and strategic deals from opportunity assessment through execution
- Develop negotiation approaches and commercial structures aligned with business objectives
- Evaluate deal economics, value drivers, financial implications, and trade-offs to support decision-making
- Negotiate with external partners and identify practical solutions that balance opportunity with risk management
- Partner with senior leaders on complex, high-value, or strategically significant transactions
Commercial Structuring & Contracting
- Develop and negotiate commercial terms across partnerships, licensing, and strategic commercial arrangements
- Partner with Legal, Finance, and business teams to evaluate contractual, IP, and financial considerations
- Translate business requirements into clear commercial terms
- Identify commercial, contractual, and operational risks and develop appropriate solutions
End-to-End Deal Execution
- Support commercial management of agreements throughout their lifecycle, including amendments, renewals, and exits
- Manage the full deal process from evaluation through contracting, approvals, execution, and handoff
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment and drive timely decisions
- Develop business cases, deal recommendations, and materials for internal reviews and approvals
- Maintain clear documentation of commercial positions, approvals, and key decisions
- Contribute to the development of deal-management processes, tools, and governance
Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders as a trusted commercial partner
- Provide advice on deal structures, commercial terms, negotiation strategy, and risk management
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with external partners
- Navigate differing priorities to build alignment and move negotiations forward
- Identify opportunities to strengthen or expand commercial partnerships
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in business development, deal management, commercial strategy, partnerships, or related field
- Demonstrated track record of independently leading complex commercial negotiations
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Law, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience structuring, negotiating, and executing commercial arrangements, ideally in gaming, entertainment, media, tech, or IP-led industries
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to assess deal economics, value drivers, and financial trade-offs
- Working knowledge of commercial contracts, licensing, and IP considerations
- Experience partnering closely with Legal teams
- Experience managing deals across the full lifecycle from negotiation through execution
- Strong stakeholder-management skills in complex, cross-functional organizations
- Ability to build credible relationships with external partners
- Sound judgement balancing commercial opportunity with legal, financial, and operational considerations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deals and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High standards of professionalism and integrity
