Responsibilities
Our talent team is representing a confidential insurance organization seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Lost Time Benefit Coordinator with Virginia jurisdictional expertise. In this role, you will:
- Analyze and adjudicate Virginia Lost Time Workers Compensation claims to determine benefits due
- Develop and execute well-structured action plans to resolve claims appropriately and promptly
- Investigate and gather information to assess claim exposure and liability
- Negotiate settlements within designated authority limits
- Communicate claim status and processing updates with claimants and clients professionally
- Report claims to excess carriers and respond to direction requests in a timely manner
- Ensure ongoing claim adjudication meets service expectations, industry best practices, and client requirements
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Required: 4 years of claims management experience
- Required: Virginia jurisdictional knowledge and experience
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Preferred: Professional certification applicable to workers compensation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Capacity to manage work-related stress effectively
