About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology infrastructure client seeking an Area Schedule Lead to oversee scheduling for a strategic portfolio of leased data center projects. This is a critical leadership role requiring deep expertise in construction scheduling, commercial contract management, and risk mitigation. You will serve as the technical subject matter expert for all schedule management and reporting across multiple high-value facilities, working closely with delivery teams, project controls, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive speed to market and on-time project completion.
This role offers approximately 25-50% travel and the opportunity to shape scheduling strategy for mission-critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end schedule coordination and updates for a portfolio of leased data center projects, including interface with risk management and proactive communication with cross-functional partners
- Identify, document, and communicate schedule risks through defined processes including risk registers, health reviews, and program management meetings
- Manage all aspects of vendor and contractor schedule management, including baseline schedule development and evaluation during pre-construction phases
- Lead efforts to optimize schedules for speed to market and ensure adherence to program guidance and specifications
- Apply commercial entitlement for contractor Extensions of Time (EOT), provide leadership on delay tracking and claims, and make recommendations aligned with contractual obligations
- Drive identification and application of proactive risk indicators and ensure proper escalation through appropriate forums
- Lead ad-hoc schedule analysis to support program needs and manage a small team of consultants as required
- Partner with site project management, pre-construction, contracts, finance, sourcing, and operations engineering teams
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, construction management, or a related field
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical field, or equivalent experience
- Subject matter expertise in Primavera P6 and other scheduling methodologies and software
- Proven experience developing and managing an owner's planning and scheduling program
- Background with data center, infrastructure, or construction programs requiring complex commissioning specifications
- Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, prioritization, organization, and reporting skills
- Experience leading complex project or program planning and coordination among large groups of internal and external stakeholders
- Track record of developing and driving actions based on schedule or project controls performance metrics
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to influence strategic direction
- Demonstrated ability to identify schedule efficiencies and drive organizational alignment in execution strategies
- Experience negotiating schedule changes or complex construction claims
- Successful development and implementation of scheduling or project controls strategies in large organizations
- Familiarity with complex networking systems and electrical infrastructure
- Experience managing teams of contingent worker schedulers
- Ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact such as efficiency gains and quality improvements
- Experience with responsible, ethical AI practices including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality reviews
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development including prompt engineering, agent orchestration, and staying current with emerging technologies
