About This Position

The Washington Post is seeking an experienced Arts & Government Reporter to uncover and tell compelling stories about the relationship between the arts sector and government. Responsibilities

  • Conduct original reporting on arts policy, cultural funding, government arts initiatives, and related regulatory matters

  • Identify, cultivate, and interview key sources including policy makers, arts administrators, artists, and thought leaders
  • Write authoritative, well-researched articles for publication across The Washington Post's digital and print platforms
  • Collaborate with editors, photographers, videographers, and colleagues on multimedia storytelling projects
  • Verify facts rigorously and maintain The Washington Post's editorial standards and ethical guidelines

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a reporter at a major news organization, wire service, or equivalent professional journalism background
