LONG TERM SUB Psychologist

About the Role

As a school psychologist with Fall River Public Schools, you'll provide essential mental health and student support services under the general supervision of the Director of Pupil Services. This long-term substitute role gives you the opportunity to work across our K-12 community, collaborating directly with students, families, educators, and school leadership to create an environment where every student can thrive. Your expertise will help remove barriers to learning and foster resilience in our school population.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and behavioral evaluations to identify students' learning and mental health needs
• Provide counseling and mental health support to students, with attention to trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and special education teams to develop and implement intervention plans and IEP goals
• Partner with families to support student growth and address concerns affecting academic performance and school adjustment
• Contribute to school climate initiatives that promote positive mental health, social-emotional learning, and student wellbeing
• Maintain careful documentation and communicate assessment findings and recommendations to stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in School Psychology or equivalent certification from an accredited program
• Valid Massachusetts school psychologist license or certification eligible for licensure
• Experience working with diverse student populations across elementary, middle, and high school settings
• Strong assessment and counseling skills with knowledge of current diagnostic and intervention approaches
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities with students, parents, and school staff
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered approaches to mental health and learning
