Power Transformer Internal connection (Cleats & Leads) Design Engineer

Siemens Energy is recruiting a Power Transformer Internal Connection (Cleats & Leads) Design Engineer for our new Power Transformers Factory in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to engineer critical internal electrical components that ensure transformer performance and grid reliability.

About This Position

You'll design and optimize internal connections—cleats and leads—for power transformers at our state-of-the-art Charlotte manufacturing facility. In this role, you'll translate Siemens Energy design specifications into innovative solutions that enhance product efficiency, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Your work directly supports the transformers that deliver power to utilities and industries across North America, making this a role with measurable technical impact.

Core Duties

• Develop and refine designs for internal connections (cleats and leads) following Siemens Energy design rules and industry standards
• Drive design optimization initiatives to improve electrical performance, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency
• Conduct design analysis and verification to ensure compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory requirements
• Prepare detailed technical documentation and design specifications for manufacturing and assembly
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and product engineering teams on design implementation
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous product improvement

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience in power transformer design, high-voltage equipment, or electrical component engineering
• Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering analysis tools
• Solid foundation in electrical theory, transformer construction, and power system fundamentals
• Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements for power equipment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams
