What This Role Involves

You'll join a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) team as a travel RN, delivering expert bedside care to critically ill patients. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and monitoring for critically ill patients in the medical intensive care setting
• Perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, manage intravenous lines, and maintain accurate medical records
• Collaborate with attending physicians, specialists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams on treatment plans
• Respond promptly to patient needs, monitor alarm systems, and communicate clinical changes to the healthcare team
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and recovery expectations
• Maintain strict infection control and safety protocols in the patient care environment
• Support patient admissions and manage care transitions as patients progress through their stay

Skills & Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or ability to obtain licensure
• Minimum one year of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) or critical-care nursing experience
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex patients and prioritize care in high-acuity environments
• Professional communication and strong teamwork across interdisciplinary teams
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and safely assist patients
• Flexibility and comfort adapting to new facility systems and protocols
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
