Prime Staffing is hiring a dedicated Travel Orthopedic Surgery RN in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina, offering $1,757 per week for a 26-week travel nursing assignment starting as soon as possible.

About the Role

This is a full-time travel registered nurse position on the J6 Orthopedics unit at a Mission facility in Asheville. As a Travel Orthopedic Surgery RN, you will deliver skilled, compassionate care to orthopedic patients while working 36 hours each week across three 12-hour day shifts (06:45–19:15). It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced orthopedic nurse seeking a structured contract in the scenic mountains of western North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to orthopedic surgical and post-surgical patients on the J6 unit.
• Monitor patient recovery, manage pain, and support mobility and rehabilitation goals.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per physician orders.
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate patient outcomes.
• Document assessments and care plans thoroughly and maintain compliance with facility protocols.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license valid for practice in North Carolina (or compact eligibility).
• Demonstrated clinical experience in orthopedics or a comparable acute-care specialty.
• Availability to commit to a 26-week assignment beginning immediately.
• Flexibility to work 12-hour day shifts totaling 36 hours weekly.
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills suited to a fast-paced hospital unit.
