Aircraft Mechanic – AME – VMG

Amentum is hiring an experienced Aircraft Mechanic specializing in Aircrew Member Equipment (AME) - VMG for full-time F-16 aircraft maintenance work throughout the United States. You'll perform critical inspection, repair, and modification work on advanced military aircraft systems.

Position Summary

In this Aircraft Mechanic - AME - VMG role, you'll execute organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance on F-16A, F-16B, F-16C, and F-16D aircraft and their associated systems. You'll apply advanced technical expertise to diagnose, repair, and modify complex aircraft components while maintaining strict operational standards. This position requires technical proficiency, precision, and the ability to troubleshoot sophisticated aviation systems in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance on F-16 aircraft and components
• Conduct thorough inspections, operational tests, and diagnostic evaluations of aircraft systems
• Execute repair and modification work on aircraft structures, systems, and equipment
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues using advanced problem-solving and technical analysis
• Document all maintenance activities, test results, and modifications in accordance with aviation standards
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and operational specifications

Skills & Qualifications

• Completion of Aircraft Mechanic - Egress (AME) technical school or equivalent certification
• Advanced technical knowledge in aircraft systems, structures, and components
• Proficiency with aircraft maintenance tools, test equipment, and diagnostic instruments
• Hands-on experience with F-16 platform systems and components
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities for complex maintenance challenges
