Billing and Collections Representative – CMG HEALTHPLUS SHARED

Join Providence's CMG HEALTHPLUS SHARED operations in Lubbock, Lubbock County as a Billing and Collections Representative. In this full-time role, you'll manage billing and collections workflows across patient accounts, identify trends affecting our revenue cycle, and mentor colleagues on billing best practices.

Role Overview

As a Billing and Collections Representative at Providence, you'll be responsible for comprehensive billing, collections, and account follow-up functions for patient accounts processed through direct payments, third-party insurance, and government-sponsored programs. Working independently with minimal oversight, you'll track claim denial patterns and posting discrepancies, resolve complex account inquiries, and serve as a resource to colleagues in our billing operations. Your contributions support Providence's commitment to accurate billing and efficient patient account resolution.

Your Responsibilities

• Execute billing, collections, and follow-up activities across direct, third-party insurance, and government patient accounts
• Monitor and respond to claim denial trends and posting errors to improve collection rates and accuracy
• Analyze complex patient account inquiries and route them to appropriate departments for resolution
• Maintain detailed records and communicate with patients and payers regarding account status
• Support team members through training and mentorship in billing and collections procedures
• Identify process improvement opportunities based on operational data and trends

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in billing, collections, healthcare accounting, or administrative healthcare roles
• Proficiency with medical billing systems, spreadsheet applications, and office software
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient and payer interactions
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and compliance
• Knowledge of insurance billing practices, HIPAA regulations, or healthcare claims processing is preferred
