High School Social Studies Teacher

Join La Salle Academy as a High School Social Studies Teacher in Providence. This full-time position offers the opportunity to educate and inspire high school students while contributing to our college preparatory mission within a faith-centered community.

What This Role Involves

In this teaching position, you will lead social studies instruction for students in grades 9–12 at La Salle Academy. You'll design and deliver engaging lessons that develop critical thinking, historical analysis, and civic awareness. Your classroom will prepare students for college success and meaningful participation in their communities, aligned with our college preparatory standards and mission.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement rigorous social studies curriculum that meets state standards and college preparatory expectations
• Assess student learning through varied methods including exams, projects, discussions, and written work; provide meaningful feedback
• Foster productive relationships with students and families; maintain regular communication regarding academic progress and growth
• Design an inclusive, respectful learning environment that supports all students
• Engage in professional development, departmental collaboration, and curriculum planning
• Participate in school community initiatives, field trips, and advisory activities as appropriate

Who We're Looking For

• Rhode Island teaching certification in Social Studies or eligibility to obtain certification; Bachelor's degree required
• Proven expertise in high school social studies curriculum and effective teaching practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; commitment to supporting diverse learners
