Electrical Battery Field Technician – UPS / ATS / Generators / Switchgear / Transformers

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc is hiring an Electrical Battery Field Technician specializing in UPS, ATS, generators, switchgear, and transformers at our Lenox Square Finance location in Fulton County. This is a full-time position supporting critical infrastructure systems across project lifecycles.

About the Role

You'll be the hands-on technical expert managing onsite installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of backup power and electrical distribution systems. Your work ensures businesses maintain uninterrupted operations by keeping UPS units, automatic transfer switches, generator sets, switchgear assemblies, and transformer banks functioning reliably. You'll coordinate directly with our Service, Project Management, Accounting, Logistics, and Estimating teams to keep projects on schedule and within scope.

What You'll Do

• Install, test, and commission UPS systems, automatic transfer switches, and battery banks at customer sites
• Diagnose electrical faults in generators, switchgear, transformers, and related equipment using industry-standard tools and procedures
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on backup power infrastructure
• Document all testing results, maintenance activities, and equipment configurations for project records
• Coordinate with field teams and management to ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction
• Follow all OSHA, NFPA, and electrical safety codes during every job
• Travel to customer sites throughout the service area as needed

What We're Looking For

• Technical knowledge of UPS, ATS, generators, switchgear, transformer systems, and battery technology
• Hands-on field troubleshooting and repair experience with electrical equipment
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to read electrical schematics, technical manuals, and safety documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Physical capability to lift, climb, and work in various onsite conditions
• Commitment to safety protocols and continuous learning in the electrical field
