About the Role
As an Assistant JV Volleyball Coach, you'll support the head coach in developing a competitive junior varsity volleyball program. This seasonal position emphasizes coaching, skill development, athlete mentorship, and building a positive team culture at the high school level.
What You'll Do
- Coach volleyball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies for junior varsity student-athletes
- Plan and conduct practice sessions focused on skill-building and team development
- Assist with match preparation, game coaching, and performance feedback
- Provide mentoring and individual guidance to help players improve athletically
- Establish positive working relationships with students, coaches, parents, administrators, and school-community members
- Maintain compliance with school district policies and athletic safety requirements
- Communicate with parents and staff about player development and team activities
- Support recruitment and player development initiatives for the JV program
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of volleyball coaching techniques and methods for developing young athletes
- Understanding of volleyball rules, regulations, and competition standards
- Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with students and staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to athlete development and building a positive coaching environment
- Commitment to safety and compliance with school athletic standards
- Prior high school or competitive volleyball coaching experience preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete certification before start date
