Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy, located in Cumberland, Providence County, is hiring a full-time Behavior and Academic Support Aide to join our diverse, mission-driven team. We're seeking a dedicated professional to support scholars in both their behavioral development and academic growth.

About the Role

As a Behavior and Academic Support Aide at Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy in Cumberland, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on student success while working within a tuition-free public charter school network committed to college readiness and preparing scholars for the world beyond.

What You'll Do

• Support students' behavioral development through proactive coaching, de-escalation, and positive reinforcement
• Assist with academic instruction in classrooms under teacher supervision
• Monitor student behavior and document observations to inform intervention strategies
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to reinforce academic and behavioral expectations
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to scholars who need additional assistance
• Foster a welcoming, respectful school culture that reflects our commitment to diversity and inclusion

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED or associate degree preferred)
• Genuine passion for supporting student growth and school community
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and respond constructively to challenging situations
• Commitment to working with scholars from diverse backgrounds and communities
