UCHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care Surgical Oncology team in Aurora, Colorado. This full-time nights position offers the opportunity to provide specialized, compassionate nursing care to surgical oncology patients during their critical recovery and treatment phases.
About the Role
As an RN in Acute Care Surgical Oncology at UCHealth, you'll deliver evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing or recovering from cancer surgery. Working the night shift on our surgical oncology unit, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes and quality care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care and clinical assessment to post-operative and acute-care oncology patients
- Monitor vital signs, manage pain protocols, and support symptom management for surgical oncology patients
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and care team members to implement individualized treatment plans
- Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed
- Educate patients and families about recovery, cancer treatment, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate documentation and electronic health records
- Provide emotional support to patients navigating serious illness and cancer treatment
What We're Looking For
- Current, unrestricted RN license from the Colorado Board of Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking in acute-care settings
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity team environment
- Compassion for cancer patients and commitment to patient-centered care
- Experience in acute care, oncology, or surgical nursing is a plus
Position Details
This is a full-time position based on the night shift, working 72 hours per pay period over two weeks. You'll work at UCHealth's Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, Colorado. This is an onsite role with no remote or hybrid work options.
Compensation
Compensation ranges from $35.29 to $54.71 per hour, based on relevant experience.
