Transmission Line Engineering Consultant 2 – Grid

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Transmission Line Engineering Consultant 2 - Grid to join our Pittsburgh, Allegheny County office. In this full-time role, you'll lead the execution of critical transmission and distribution infrastructure projects while coordinating across multiple departments to deliver exceptional results.

About the Role

As a Transmission Line Engineering Consultant 2 - Grid with Sargent & Lundy, you'll take ownership of project delivery from conception through completion. This position combines technical expertise with project leadership, requiring you to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. You'll partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to navigate complex project requirements and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

What You'll Do

• Direct execution and technical oversight of transmission and distribution projects
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent initiatives
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and external partners throughout the project lifecycle
• Handle contract administration, procurement, and vendor management responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies
• Develop detailed project plans and manage scope, schedule, and performance metrics
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Lead technical discussions and provide engineering guidance on grid transmission systems

What We're Looking For

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one
• 5+ years of experience in transmission line engineering, project management, or related field
• Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution system design and operations
• Proven project management and contract administration experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency with project management software and engineering tools
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
