Geotechnician

Turner Staffing Group is hiring a Lead Geotechnician based in Cover, Elko County, Nevada for this full-time, on-site role. You'll lead geotechnical field teams and direct drilling and sample management programs for active exploration and mining operations across Nevada's Winnemucca area and Southeastern Idaho.

About the Role

As a Lead Geotechnician, you manage on-site geology teams and serve as technical lead for geotechnical field operations across multiple project sites. You'll oversee drilling activities, supervise core and sample collection, and maintain rigorous data documentation to support exploration and mining projects.

What You'll Do

• Lead and supervise geotechnician staff and field personnel on active drilling and exploration sites
• Coordinate drilling programs and monitor drill operations for quality, accuracy, and safety compliance
• Manage sample collection, core logging, and geological data recording with strict accuracy standards
• Maintain detailed field records and oversee data integrity for project reporting and analysis
• Communicate findings and site conditions with project management and engineering teams
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, company safety protocols, and environmental regulations

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a geotechnician or in geological field operations and exploration work
• Proven leadership skills managing field teams and technical staff
• Strong knowledge of drilling methods, core sampling, and geological logging practices
• Meticulous attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to accurate data collection
• Ability to work effectively in remote field environments and variable weather conditions
• Strong communication skills with team members, supervisors, and project stakeholders
