Odessa College Portal is seeking a Part‑Time Athletics Bus Driver to join its team in Odessa, Ector County.

About the Role
As a Part‑Time Athletics Bus Driver you will be responsible for the safe operation of large‑capacity passenger vehicles that carry Odessa College athletic teams. The position requires a reliable individual who can adhere to schedules, follow directions, and ensure that all passengers arrive at their destinations securely and on time.
What You'll Do
- Drive college‑owned buses and vans to transport athletes, coaches, and equipment to various locations.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections to verify vehicle readiness and report any mechanical issues.
- Follow all federal, state, and local transportation laws, including those governing passenger and air‑brake endorsements.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel usage, and service activities as required by college policy.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, coaching staff, and passengers regarding route changes or delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading of sports equipment while ensuring it is secured properly.
- Respond calmly to emergencies or unexpected situations, adhering to established safety protocols.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements.
- A clean driving record with no major violations or suspensions.
- Proven ability to operate large passenger vehicles safely and confidently.
- Working knowledge of safety and security procedures relevant to student transportation.
- Strong listening and communication skills to follow and convey oral and written instructions.
- Commitment to upholding college policies, rules, and regulations regarding passenger conduct.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as dictated by athletic schedules.
