The Rockingham County School Division is seeking a dedicated Soccer - Anticipated Head Girls' Varsity Soccer Coach to lead the ERHS program in Elkton, Rockingham County.

About the Role

This full‑time position oversees the girls' varsity soccer team, guiding student‑athletes through practices, games, and skill development while fostering a positive, inclusive environment that aligns with the division’s athletic and academic standards.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement effective training sessions that teach fundamental and advanced soccer techniques.
• Teach and enforce the rules of the game, ensuring players understand safety protocols and sportsmanship expectations.
• Build strong relationships with athletes, assistant coaches, school staff, parents, and community supporters.
• Coordinate game schedules, travel logistics, and equipment management in partnership with the athletic department.
• Monitor student‑athlete academic progress and encourage balance between athletics and classroom responsibilities.
• Promote program growth by participating in outreach events, tryouts, and off‑season conditioning activities.

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated knowledge of soccer coaching strategies, player development, and current NFHS/VHSL regulations.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly and motivate diverse groups of teenagers and adults.
• Experience working collaboratively with school administrators, fellow coaches, and parent organizations.
• A background that combines relevant education (such as coursework in physical education, coaching certification, or a related field) with practical coaching or playing experience.
• Commitment to upholding the division’s policies on equity, safety, and student welfare.
• Valid CPR/AED and first‑aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season).
• Successful completion of any required background checks and clearances for school employment.
