About the Role
As Vice President of Investor Relations, you'll lead the charge in developing and executing investor acquisition strategies that fuel NEF's mission. Working with institutional investors, financial institutions, and other capital sources, you'll establish and nurture relationships that expand NEF's capacity to finance affordable housing developments across the West.
What You'll Do
- Identify, prospect, and cultivate relationships with institutional investors, pension funds, banks, and other capital providers
- Develop and implement regional business development strategies targeting high-potential investment partners
- Create customized investor presentations and marketing materials that showcase NEF's track record and investment opportunities
- Lead investor pitches, negotiations, and relationship management to close new capital commitments
- Collaborate with NEF's syndication, compliance, and asset management teams to ensure investor commitments align with operational capacity
- Track market trends, competitive positioning, and regulatory landscape changes affecting low-income housing tax credit investments
- Monitor investor satisfaction and retention, ensuring long-term partnership success
What We're Looking For
- Proven track record in investor relations, business development, or capital raising—ideally in real estate finance, nonprofits, or community development
- Deep knowledge of low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), New Markets Tax Credits, or similar tax-incentive investing structures
- Demonstrated ability to build and close large institutional relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial products clearly
- Strategic mindset paired with strong execution and sales discipline
- Willingness to travel throughout the western U.S. region as needed
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, real estate, public policy, or related field; MBA a plus
