About the Role

As a Rail Switch Technician, you'll operate, inspect, and maintain railroad switches at our New Martinsville facility. Your work ensures safe, reliable train movements and keeps our transportation infrastructure running smoothly. You'll take ownership of equipment functionality, respond to operational needs, and maintain the highest standards of safety compliance.

What You'll Do

• Operate railway switches to direct train movements and coordinate with dispatch personnel
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on switch mechanisms and related equipment
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues affecting switch performance
• Maintain detailed records of switch operations, maintenance activities, and equipment status
• Follow safety protocols and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations
• Respond quickly to equipment failures and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
• Collaborate with train operators and railroad personnel to support on-time operations

What We're Looking For

• Experience operating railroad switches or related rail equipment
• Strong understanding of railway safety practices and regulations
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
