About the Role
This is a 0.8 full-time equivalent substitute teaching appointment spanning the 2026-27 school year. You'll work within our Spanish immersion program, leading classroom instruction for secondary students who are developing proficiency in Spanish language and Hispanic culture. The role combines core instructional responsibilities with the flexibility that comes with a long-term placement in a committed school community.
What You'll Do
- Deliver Spanish language instruction aligned with district curriculum standards and immersion program objectives
- Facilitate student engagement in speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish
- Create inclusive learning environments that support diverse learners' language acquisition
- Assess student progress and communicate regularly with colleagues and families
- Contribute to a supportive teaching community and participate in department collaboration
What We're Looking For
- Minnesota K-12 Spanish teaching license, or qualification to obtain one
- Demonstrated fluency in Spanish at the native or near-native level
- Strong instructional practices and classroom management skills
- Commitment to equity and supporting students of all backgrounds
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a committed teaching team
