This is a full-time position where you'll take ownership of high-stakes legal matters, from global commercial disputes to shareholder litigation, advising both our legal team and C-suite executives on strategic risk mitigation.

About the Role

As Senior Corporate Counsel at Amazon, you'll manage a diverse docket of complex litigation spanning commercial disagreements, consumer disputes, and shareholder actions—many involving substantial financial exposure. You'll serve as trusted legal strategist to our business leaders, translating litigation risk into actionable corporate decisions. Your work directly protects Amazon's interests in matters requiring deep legal expertise, creative problem-solving, and the judgment to know when to settle, defend, or appeal.

What You'll Do

  • Direct litigation strategy and case management across Amazon's commercial, consumer, and stockholder disputes
  • Evaluate emerging legal risks and counsel executives on enterprise-level implications
  • Partner with in-house and external counsel to develop integrated defense and resolution strategies for multi-million and multi-billion dollar matters
  • Oversee litigation budgets, timelines, and legal team coordination across jurisdictions
  • Identify litigation trends and systemic legal risks, advising on preventive corporate policies
  • Represent Amazon's legal interests in settlement negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation

What We're Looking For

  • J.D. and admission to practice in the United States (any state)
  • Minimum 10+ years of litigation experience, with significant exposure to commercial disputes and complex cases
  • Proven track record managing high-stakes litigation matters with substantial exposure
  • Strategic mindset: ability to connect legal outcomes to business impact
  • Strong writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and delivering counsel under time pressure
  • Experience advising senior business leaders on legal risk and corporate strategy
  • Self-directed work style with ability to manage competing priorities independently
