About the Role

As a Scheduling Specialist in our Pre-Admission Testing department, you'll manage the critical scheduling operations that connect patients to their surgical procedures. Your work ensures that each patient arrives prepared and that the surgical team has the information they need before the operating room.

What You'll Do

• Review patient referrals and medical records to assess scheduling readiness and identify any gaps in pre-admission requirements
• Coordinate appointment scheduling with surgery dates, patient availability, and test capacities to optimize clinic flow
• Manage incoming phone communications from patients, providers, and clinical staff, documenting inquiries and coordinating next steps
• Enter and maintain accurate patient information and scheduling details in electronic health records systems
• Communicate testing requirements and appointment details to patients, ensuring clarity and compliance with pre-procedure instructions
• Follow up with patients regarding appointment confirmations and any outstanding pre-admission items
• Support the PAT team in tracking testing completion and flagging any concerns for clinical review

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a healthcare scheduling, administrative, or clerical role
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent phone communication and customer service abilities
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems or willingness to quickly master our platforms
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in patient information and scheduling
• Ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team
• High school diploma or GED required; medical coding, billing, or healthcare administration experience a plus
