Senior Fellow, GEC

The Atlantic Council of the U.S. is seeking a Senior Fellow for its Global Energy Center to lead the Transatlantic critical infrastructure catalyst project from our Washington, D.C. headquarters, working in close collaboration with our Atlantic Council Romania office.

About the Role

This is a full-time Senior Fellow position with Atlantic Council's Global Energy Center, one of the leading voices on energy security and policy in the transatlantic relationship. In this role, you will drive strategic initiatives that connect energy infrastructure challenges across the U.S., Europe, and beyond, while building deep partnerships with policymakers, industry experts, and international stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and execution of the Transatlantic critical infrastructure catalyst project, a flagship initiative addressing energy resilience and security
• Develop research, policy recommendations, and strategic frameworks that inform U.S. and European leadership on infrastructure priorities
• Coordinate between Washington and Bucharest offices to ensure cohesive project delivery and regional engagement
• Conduct deep-dive analysis on critical infrastructure vulnerabilities, policy gaps, and emerging threats in the transatlantic energy landscape
• Engage senior government officials, corporate leaders, and civil society to build coalitions around infrastructure resilience
• Author thought leadership pieces, white papers, and public-facing analysis that shape policy debate
• Represent Atlantic Council at international forums, conferences, and high-level meetings

What We're Looking For

• Strong background in energy policy, critical infrastructure, or transatlantic relations
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and manage stakeholder relationships
• Excellent research, analytical, and written communication skills
• Experience working with government, think tanks, international organizations, or related institutions
• Familiarity with European energy systems and geopolitical dynamics is a plus
• Master's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop new initiatives and drive organizational impact
