About the Role
As Department Chair, you will lead a dynamic mathematics and statistics department with 13 tenured and tenure-track faculty members, 4 full-time instructional staff, and 3 part-time adjuncts. You will shape the department's academic vision, foster collaborative research and teaching excellence, and advance the institution's commitment to student success and scholarly inquiry.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic academic and administrative leadership for all departmental operations, budget, and personnel decisions
- Mentor and support faculty development across teaching, research, and professional advancement
- Oversee curriculum design and student learning outcomes for undergraduate and graduate programs
- Champion research initiatives and creative scholarly work within the discipline
- Collaborate with university leadership to advance institutional priorities and secure resources for departmental growth
- Foster an inclusive, collegial environment that supports diverse perspectives and strengthens the academic community
- Engage with external stakeholders, including alumni, employers, and professional organizations
- Manage departmental scheduling, assessment, accreditation, and compliance responsibilities
