About the Role
The Facility Use Program Building Monitor is essential to Eden Prairie Schools' community education mission. You'll be the primary point of contact for individuals and organizations using district facilities outside regular school hours, ensuring smooth operations, building security, and positive community engagement.
What You'll Do
- Welcome and assist community members accessing district facilities for evening, weekend, and special events
- Provide clear information about facility rules, availability, and building procedures
- Monitor facility use to ensure compliance with district policies and safety standards
- Conduct building walkthroughs and security checks during assigned shifts
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or policy violations to building administration
- Maintain accurate records of facility usage and monitor entry/exit
- Respond professionally to community inquiries and resolve conflicts when they arise
- Support setup and breakdown for community events as needed
What We're Looking For
- Strong customer service skills and genuine comfort interacting with diverse community members
- Reliability and attention to detail in security and compliance responsibilities
- Ability to remain calm and professional in varied situations
- Clear communication skills and professional demeanor
- Physical ability to conduct facility walkthroughs and move throughout buildings
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts as required
- Prior experience in facility management, security, or community-facing roles is a plus
