KIHOMAC, Inc. is seeking an experienced Airframe and Powerplant Specialist with an active security clearance to join our Contract Field Team on military aircraft maintenance programs across the United States. This is a full-time position based in the field, requiring regular travel to support ongoing aircraft maintenance operations at multiple locations.
About the Role
As an Airframe and Powerplant Specialist, you'll perform hands-on maintenance and repair work on military aircraft, supporting critical defense missions. You'll work directly with advanced aircraft systems and structures, contributing to operational readiness and mission success in a dynamic contract environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on military aircraft as part of a Contract Field Team
- Execute airframe repairs, fabrication, and structural modifications following technical specifications
- Service and troubleshoot aircraft electrical systems, including routing wire harnesses and completing precision terminations
- Conduct inspections and testing of aircraft systems and components to ensure operational compliance
- Read and interpret technical manuals, work cards, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation
- Document maintenance actions and maintain accurate technical records
- Coordinate with field teams and manage maintenance-related supplies and inventory
- Travel to various military and contract facilities as assigned, with extended periods away from home base
What We're Looking For
- Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification or equivalent military qualification
- Active security clearance (Secret or higher preferred; willingness to obtain if required)
- Demonstrated expertise in aircraft maintenance, repair, and electrical systems
- Proficiency interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a field team in fast-paced environments
- Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods to various US locations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards
