Registered Nurse New Graduate (RN) – ICU

Baptist Medical Center seeks a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) New Graduate for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in San Antonio, Bexar County. About the Role

As an ICU Registered Nurse, you'll be part of a specialized nursing team delivering high-level patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This full-time position offers comprehensive support for nurses early in their careers, with mentorship, structured orientation, and ongoing education to help you develop the advanced assessment and decision-making skills critical care demands. You'll care for patients with complex medical conditions, monitor vital signs and clinical trends, respond to acute changes, and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams—all while building the clinical judgment that defines expert nursing.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention for acutely ill patients
• Operate and interpret cardiac monitoring, ventilators, infusion pumps, and other critical care equipment
• Administer medications and IV therapies, with focus on accuracy and patient safety
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and clinical teams on treatment plans
• Document nursing assessments and interventions in the electronic health record
• Recognize early warning signs and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families during critical illness

What We're Looking For

• Current Texas RN license or eligible to obtain one
• BSN or ADN from an accredited nursing program
• Strong clinical foundation and communication skills
• Ability to work in a high-acuity environment and manage multiple patients
• Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice
• Openness to mentorship and professional development
