About the Role
As Strategy and Operations Lead, you'll own cross-functional projects that strengthen YouTube's advertising auction platform. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, product operations, and team leadership—bridging YouTube product leadership, engineering, sales, and finance to solve complex problems and unlock new capabilities in how brands bid for video inventory.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute multi-quarter strategic initiatives that improve auction mechanics, advertiser experience, and revenue outcomes for YouTube's brand buyers
- Lead operational projects from concept through launch, including process design, cross-team coordination, and impact measurement
- Analyze auction performance data and market trends to identify optimization opportunities and inform product roadmap decisions
- Partner with engineering, sales, and product teams to translate strategy into execution and resolve operational bottlenecks
- Mentor mid-level and junior team members, developing problem-solving skills and operational excellence across the group
- Communicate progress and insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders with clarity and data-driven recommendations
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations, product management, or related roles, with a focus on marketplace dynamics, auction systems, or advertising technology
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence outcomes without direct authority
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort interpreting large datasets and drawing actionable conclusions
- Experience mentoring and developing junior team members
- Communication skills that work equally well with engineers, business partners, and executives
- Knowledge of digital advertising, ad technology, or marketplace platforms is a plus
