Patient Service Specialist – Medical Front Office

Select Medical, in partnership with Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Specialist to serve as a vital point of contact across multiple outpatient rehabilitation clinics in the Cedar Park and greater Williamson County area.

About the Role

This is a PRN (as-needed) float position with a pay rate of $21.00 per hour, offering flexible scheduling Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The Patient Service Specialist will rotate across outpatient clinic locations throughout the Austin metro, providing front office coverage wherever it is needed most. Travel is a core requirement of this role.

Coverage Area

The selected candidate will support clinics across the following locations:

• Cedar Park East
• Avery Ranch
• Tech Ridge
• Angus Road
• Mueller
• Manor
• Round Rock Sundance
• Hutto

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients at the front desk, creating a welcoming clinical environment
• Manage patient check-in and check-out workflows efficiently across multiple sites
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect necessary patient documentation
• Schedule appointments and coordinate with clinical staff to maintain smooth patient flow
• Handle phone inquiries, direct calls, and respond to patient questions with professionalism
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with healthcare privacy standards
• Adapt quickly to varying clinic procedures and team environments as a float specialist

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a medical front office or patient-facing healthcare setting preferred
• Comfort with travel and working across multiple clinic locations throughout the week
• Strong organizational and communication skills suited to a fast-paced outpatient environment
• Familiarity with medical scheduling systems, insurance verification, or electronic health records is a plus
• Reliable transportation required given the float nature of this position
