About the Role

The New Graduate Nurse Residency – Behavioral Health is a structured, 12-month transition-to-practice program designed to bridge the gap between nursing school and confident bedside care. As a Graduate Resident Nurse, you will gain hands-on clinical experience while building the assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills essential to behavioral health nursing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient-centered care to behavioral health patients under the mentorship of experienced registered nurses.
  • Apply evidence-based practices to assess, plan, and evaluate individualized patient care.
  • Strengthen clinical judgment and critical-thinking abilities through guided, real-world experience.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to support patient safety and positive outcomes.
  • Participate fully in residency coursework, simulations, and professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current or pending Registered Nurse (RN) licensure as required by the state of Florida.

  • Availability for full-time, on-site work in Johns Pass, Pinellas County.
