About the Role

As the Director of Payroll Services, you will oversee the strategy, accuracy, and compliance of payroll operations across Sunrise Senior Living. Based on-site in Tysons Corner, you will guide a team responsible for delivering timely, dependable pay to the employees who make our communities thrive, while continuously refining processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring every team member is compensated accurately and on schedule.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team, fostering accountability and a service-first culture.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
• Strengthen payroll systems, internal controls, and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Partner with finance, human resources, and operations leaders to align payroll practices with organizational goals.
• Resolve complex payroll matters and serve as the subject-matter expert for escalated questions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading payroll operations, ideally at a multi-site or enterprise scale.
• Strong command of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
• Proven people-leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in payroll systems and process improvement.
