About the Role
As a Senior Estimator with PCL Construction in Denver, Colorado, you will own the preconstruction and estimating process from initial concept through final bid. This full-time, on-site position puts you at the center of how we price, plan, and win complex building projects—shaping outcomes that turn blueprints into thriving communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed, accurate cost estimates across all phases, including conceptual, schematic, design-development, and final bid pricing.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to produce comprehensive quantity takeoffs.
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals to confirm competitive and complete coverage.
- Partner with project managers, superintendents, and design teams to identify value-engineering opportunities and manage risk.
- Support bid strategy, prepare proposal documentation, and present estimates to leadership and clients.
- Mentor junior estimators and help refine estimating standards, tools, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, ideally on commercial or large-scale building projects.
- Strong command of takeoff and estimating software, plus the ability to interpret construction documents with precision.
- Solid understanding of building systems, construction methods, materials, and current market pricing.
- Sharp analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a collaborative, detail-driven mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
