Central California Legal Services is hiring a full-time Directing Attorney for Housing Law, based in Calwa within Fresno County, to lead advocacy that protects the housing rights of low-income Californians.
About the Role
As the CCLS Directing Attorney – Housing Law, you will guide a dedicated housing practice and report to the Director of Litigation & Advocacy. This on-site, exempt position places you at the center of efforts to secure safe, stable, and affordable housing for the communities CCLS serves across Fresno County.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise the day-to-day work of the housing law practice group
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and case guidance to attorneys and support staff
- Develop litigation and advocacy strategies that advance the housing interests of low-income clients
- Represent clients in housing-related civil legal matters as needed
- Coordinate with the Director of Litigation & Advocacy on program priorities and outcomes
Qualifications
- Active license to practice law in the State of California
- Demonstrated experience in housing law or related civil legal services
- Leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to manage a team and caseload
- Commitment to serving low-income individuals and advancing access to justice
- Strong written, oral advocacy, and organizational skills
