Join Child Saving Institute as a Youth Care Specialist and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people in our Benson community. This full-time, morning-shift position offers hands-on experience in therapeutic youth care, where you'll provide supervision, support, and guidance while working toward becoming a skilled Youth Counselor.
About the Role
Based in Benson, Douglas County, this Youth Care Specialist role runs Thursday through Monday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at $20.00 per hour. You'll work alongside experienced Youth Counselors in our structured care programs, learning all functions of the position while directly supervising and supporting children and youth ages 0–19. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone passionate about child welfare and ready to develop professional skills in a supportive, mentored environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide consistent visual supervision and ensure the safety of assigned youth throughout your shift
- Create and maintain a therapeutic, learning-centered environment that promotes growth and well-being
- Support youth during daily activities, routines, and transitions with care and consistency
- Observe, document, and report on youth behavior and progress to the care team
- Work within established program structures and protocols
- Collaborate with Youth Counselors and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
- Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and commitment to child-centered practice
