About the Role
This full-time Welder position is based in Baltimore and offers the opportunity to apply your welding expertise in service of your community. You'll work with the Department of General Services to keep city equipment, facilities, and infrastructure in excellent working condition through skilled metal fabrication and repair work.
What You'll Do
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components using welding equipment and established techniques
- Inspect materials, joints, and finished welds to verify they meet quality and safety standards
- Maintain and properly store welding equipment and tools
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
- Follow OSHA regulations and Department of General Services safety protocols at all times
- Coordinate with other maintenance staff on citywide facility and equipment projects
