Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care to oncology medical-surgical patients across your assigned unit
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and monitor patient responses to treatment protocols
- Perform comprehensive assessments, create individualized care plans, and document clinical findings accurately
- Educate patients and families about treatment, side effects, and self-care strategies during recovery
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including oncologists, social workers, and support specialists
- Monitor vital signs, manage pain, and respond promptly to patient needs and changes in condition
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to facility-specific protocols and procedures
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine or compact state
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience, with oncology experience preferred
- Strong foundation in medical-surgical nursing with ability to manage multiple patients
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills with a patient-centered approach
- Flexibility, adaptability, and professional demeanor in fast-paced healthcare environments
- Willingness to travel and relocate temporarily for assignment duration
