What This Role Involves

You'll step into a critical allied health role supporting electrophysiologists and cardiologists in advanced cardiac procedures. As a travel EP Technician, you'll work in a fast-paced, high-acuity cath lab environment, managing specialized equipment and ensuring patient safety during complex diagnostic and interventional procedures. This full-time, on-site position runs 40 hours per week with consistent 10-hour day shifts, providing the stability and predictable schedule that travel professionals value.

What You'll Do

  • Set up, maintain, and calibrate electrophysiology equipment and monitoring systems for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Assist physicians during EP studies, ablations, and device implantations, passing instruments and documenting procedures
  • Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms throughout procedures, alerting the team to any significant changes
  • Maintain strict asepsis and sterile technique in the cath lab environment
  • Operate fluoroscopy equipment and other specialized cardiac imaging tools under physician supervision
  • Perform pre- and post-procedure patient care and equipment checks
  • Coordinate with nursing and physician teams to ensure smooth, efficient case flow
  • Document all procedures accurately and ensure compliance with institutional protocols

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Registered Electrophysiology Technician (REPT) or equivalent credential (RCIS or CBET)
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in an electrophysiology or cath lab setting
  • Proficiency with EP equipment, electrophysiology systems, and fluoroscopy instrumentation
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond quickly in acute situations
  • Excellent teamwork and communication in a high-stress medical environment
  • Valid ACLS certification and current CPR
  • Reliable transportation or willingness to relocate temporarily for the 13-week assignment
